Local Shrine Club Donates to DRHC

The Dauphin and District Shrine Club has made a significant contribution towards children’s care at Dauphin Regional Health Centre (DRHC).  The Shrine Club contributed close to $6,000, via the Dauphin Hospital Foundation, that helped purchase a Broselow Pediatric Emergency Cart and related support equipment.   The Broselow Cart is a colour-coded system for children (infant to 12).  Its key features allow for quick access to correct sizes of medical equipment in the event of an emergency.

Khartum Temple Shrine Club representative Dave Yeo says one of the local club’s main objectives is to fundraise for initiatives, projects or equipment that support children and their families within the Parkland region.  Yeo adds, during the past few years, the local Shriners have made contributions which have benefitted other health care facilities within Prairie Mountain Health region including Grandview  and Ste. Rose.

Local fundraising initiatives that occur throughout the year include raising money from various raffle ticket sales, Christmas cake sales and by recycling drink cans.
